Dr. Greg Gifford

BIO    Podcast 22APR

To our Riverdale Baptist Church family,

Riverdale Baptist Church will be welcoming our new pastor, Dr. Greg Gifford, and his wife, Carol, to their new church home on Sunday, June 24, 2018.  Their arrival will also coincide with our annual Celebration of Freedom service, and we would encourage everyone to share this special day with us as we lift our praise to the Son who sets us free (John 8:36).

It is our hope that in the anticipation of their arrival, you will join us as we prepare our hearts in a spirit of joy and thanksgiving.  Also, please join us during the next three weeks as we prepare to welcome and embrace them into our church family. Praise God with us for answered prayer and the gift of His choice for our church. We ask that you pray:

  • That we continue to demonstrate great love, faith, and commitment to our church and to God as we grow together as a unified body, so that others know that we belong to Him. (John 13:35)
  • That as the body of Christ we do not miss an opportunity to give more, serve more, and love more as a spiritual act of worship. (Mark 12:30)
  • That God will prepare our hearts to receive a new pastor; that we will show kindness, compassion, and generosity of spirit in every way.
  • That we ask God to provide His peace to the Giffords during this transition and that every detail of their move will be covered with His grace. (Phil 4:6)

We thank every one of our pastors, leaders, and staff for standing in the gap and for continually reminding us that it is only in Christ that all things hold together (1 Col 1:17).  We look forward to the unfolding of God’s plan at Riverdale Baptist Church under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Gifford, as we all seek to connect, grow and serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Carter Frank, Chairman    Curtis Peet, Chairman

A word from Pastor Gifford in anticipation of their arrival:

Dr. John Cawood (a professor at “Philadelphia College of the Bible” from years gone by) used to say, “Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard.” This simple, yet meaningful, saying has stuck with me all of my life. That’s exactly what Carol and I have been doing. We’ve been enthusiastically sorting and packing, knowing that each “inch by inch” task brings us closer to you. We are so ready to begin this new chapter in our lives with you. We think of you often and look forward to arriving the third week in June. Please pray for us as we finalize the move and close the chapter of our lives here in Ohio. We’ll be praying for you and anticipate a fruitful ministry together for the glory of God and the cause of Christ.    Pastor Greg Gifford
